What to Expect During Your Fetal ECHO Appointment

The fetal echocardiography examination is performed with you lying comfortably on an examination table. Our sonographer applies ultrasound gel to your abdomen and uses a transducer to obtain detailed heart images. The procedure is completely painless and typically takes 30-60 minutes.

Timing and Frequency of Fetal ECHO
Optimal Timing: The best time for fetal echocardiography is typically between 18-2422 weeks of pregnancy, when fetal heart structures are well-developed and clearly visible on ultrasound.
Early Evaluation: In some high-risk cases, we may perform fetal heart scans as early as 14-16 weeks, though image quality may be limited at this stage.
